Task 1: Find a redeeming quality in a book you read this year and didn’t like.

A book I really couldn't get with this year was Atonement. There's really nothing I think I liked, but I'm glad to have read it after meaning to for all these years. Does that count? That comments really about me and not the book, so I guess instead I'll say the writing was really beautiful at times. I felt consumed by it on occasion.
