I don't know if Stephen Fry is well-known in the US, but for those of you that haven't heard of him, you should really try his books. He's considered a kind-of national instution in the U.K. He's an actor, comedian, televison host and writer. Every one of his books that I've read has been great, and this book about a privaledged young man who gets caught up in some life-altering events, is no exception.
