One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus

One of Us Is Lying - Karen M. McManus

I finally managed to finish this! I enjoyed it, but it wasn't amasing. It was about a bunch of teenagers who are in detention together and one doesn't make it out alive. Sounds like a play on The Breakfast Club and it is, with a thriller twist added.

The characterisation was good, but not outstanding. The plot itself was interesting and kept me reading, but it felt as if it meandered a lot of the time, going around and around in circles. A lot of the novel was basically the kids from detention discussing who the murderer could be.

What bumped it up to three stars was finding out who the instigator of the murder was, something I didn't expect at all.

An easy read that was okay, but nothing that breaks the mold. The synopsis sounds a lot better than the actual execution.
